Homestead jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first period, but the Bears were able to tie it up with about 4 1/2 minutes left in the first period. After the second period the score remained tied at 1-1. Just under 5 minutes into the third period the Bears scored a power play goal. They then got into some penalty trouble of their own and were scored on when Homestead took advantage of a 5 on 3 power play. The game would end tied in regulation.

In the first 5 on 5 overtime neither team was able to score. After a 3 minute intermission the game went to double overtime where the teams played 3 on 3 for 5 minutes. With 7 seconds left in the period and the game, Trevor Newkirk stepped in from his defensive position and netted the game winning goal. The team remains undefeated in conference play (3-0).
