Congratulations to Wall of Fame inductees Chris Canter and Chuck Ritzenthaler on being inducted into Germantown's Wall of Fame at the boys' basketball game on Friday, January 6, 2023 and to the first ever recipient of the Friends of Germantown Athletics award in Cy Swiecichowski.


The next Wall of Fame induction will occur on Friday, January 20 at the girls' home basketball game and Cindy Wehrman (Jakusz) will be inducted at halftime of the 7 PM varsity game.

This past Saturday the Germantown DECA team competed in their District Competition at Kettle Moraine High School. The team earned over 45 medals and qualified 15 students for the State Competition to be held this Spring.  Congratulations Warhawks, well done!


The Germantown Boys' Basketball Team continues to battle through a tough conference schedule going 1-2 in their last 3 games.  

 

The Warhawks dropped a tough game vs Hamilton on January 6th.  Will Van Fossen scored 13, Mason Freiburger had 12, and Carter Privatt put in 10 points.  

 

The boys fell to another top ten ranked opponent Brookfield Central on Tuesday 79-63.  It was a close game until the Lancers pulled away at the very end.  Van Fossen led the way again with 17 points.  Ryan Ferguson had 12 points and Mason Freiburger had 11 points and 8 rebounds.  

 

The Warhawks got back on track last night as they beat West Allis Hale 63-56.  Many players contributed to a great defensive effort against some of the conference's top players.  Peyton McKenna was the top scorer with 14 points.  Ryan Ferguson had 13 points and Will Van Fossen chipped in with 11 points.  The win brings the Warhawks record to 6-6 on the season overall.

Youth boys' basketball players play a short game at the end of the varsity boys' game.  Nice work to all!


The Germantown Girls' Basketball Team improved to 12-3 with two conference wins this week. On Tuesday, the Warhawks defeated Brookfield Central 94-63. KK Arnold had a triple-double with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists.  Lucy Leininger had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Danica Gosz contributed 14 points to the winning cause, as Jaycee Mani got 11 points to go with 8 steals. On Thursday, the girls team took care of West Allis Hale 84-49. Danica Gosz led the way with 23 points, while KK Arnold dished out 11 assists and got 8 steals. Allison Moeller put in 6 points during the win.

Congratulations to the Germantown/Menomonee Falls Gymnastics team for placing 4th at the Homestead Invite last Saturday. Emerson Coulter placed 7th all around and Fynn Langley placed 5th all around. Nice work!


The Bears Hockey Team had a game last Friday against KMMO. KMMO jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period. Stone Daczka responded less than a minute and a half later with a short handed goal to tie the game up. KMMO took the lead again at the 12 minute mark of the second period. 14 minutes into the period the Bears scored two goals in less than 20 seconds to regain the lead. Camden Luedtke would go on to add another goal in the third period for the win and a final score of 4-2.

 

On Tuesday the team traveled to Sheboygan for a game. The Bears starting goaltender was out due to illness and a JV goalie started his first varsity game ever. The Bears jumped out to an early 1st period lead of 4-0 with goals from Stone Daczka (who also had an assist in the first period), Reid Newkird, and Camden Luedtke. Sheboygan battled back in the 2nd period scoring 3 goals, Stone Daczka had an unassisted goal to keep the Bears in a 5-3 lead after two periods. In the third period between 8:50 and the 9:21 (31 seconds) mark the Bears scored 3 goals extending the lead to 8-3, 2 goals were assisted by Camden Luedtke. Sheboygan would score a power play goal shortly after, but not to be outdone by Stone Daczka who scored a power play goal of his own, assisted by Reid Newkirk to make the final score 9-4 for another Bears win.

 

Germantown currently has two players in the top 4 for scoring. Camden Luedtke has 9 goals and 9 assists for 18 points. Stone Daczka has 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points.

The Lakeshore Lightning Girls Hockey team is currently 9-7 (2-3 in the Eastern Shores Conference) The Lightning play University School of Milwaukee on Saturday, January 14th at 4:00 PM at the Uihlein Ice Arena.  Good luck!


The Germantown Boys' Swim Team swam well in a home dual against Marquette last night.  They are back in action in another dual on Thursday, January 19 at Waukesha North.  Keep up the good work!
