ForensicsOn March 17th, the Germantown Forensics Team travelled to Neenah to compete in the District Competition. Congratulations to all 17 members on the team for qualifying for the State Competition, held this Friday at UW Madison! In addition, the Team travelled to Madison this past weekend to compete in the WFCA State Forensics Tournament. Congratulations to Paige Johnson for winning 3rd place in the State for her Oratory piece!

Fifteen of the 28 in attendance directly qualified for ILC, being held in Nashville this June.

Four took 4th or 5th and might be asked if 1st-3rd in their event decline.

Baird Stars of Tomorrow Concert highlights the great musical talent of teens from across the state of Wisconsin. Lydia performed next to MSO oboist Kevin Pearl on the Bradley Symphony Hall stage. TennisTennisTennisTennisTennisTennisTennisGirls SoccerThe girls’ varsity soccer team opened their season with a 2-1 come from behind win over D2, #2 ranked, Union Grove. Goals were scored by senior, Megan Grater off a free kick to bring us back to even before the break. Then Maggie Otte hit the game winner in the 63', assisted by Ellery Freiburger. JV had another great showing in their 7-1 win over Union Grove.

The Warhawks also took down cross-town rival Menomonee Falls 4-1 to keep the Border Battle trophy home. Goals were scored by Leah Brock (10’ and 50’), Maya Staples (24’) and Gabbie Hetzel (64’). JV again took care of business, winning 6-1 against Falls.  Another great defensive effort from the backline and overall great programs wins to start off the season!

The Warhawks are back in action for their home opener on April 15th for a conference matchup against Brookfield East and again April 17th against Homestead.

Softball

The softball team defeated Menomonee Falls 10-0 in 5 innings, to move to 2-0 overall and in the Greater Metro Conference.

 

The Warhawks scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and never looked back.  Offensive leaders included Senior SS Kayla Preiss (3-3, 2B, R, 3 RBI, 2 SB), Senior 1B Madison Werner (1-1, 2B, 2 R, 2 IBB, 2 SB), and Sophomore C Kennedy Bennett (1-3, 2B, RBI).

 

Senior Kylie Otto (2-0) notched her first shutout of the season, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4.

 

The Warhawks are back in action on April 11 as they travel to Wauwatosa West for a doubleheader.
