Pom and DanceThe Pom and Dance Team left on Friday to compete at their State Championship in La Crosse! They had 3 amazing performances and are happy to bring back 4th place in Pom! Great job to all!

PomsPomsPomsPomsPomsPomsPomsBoys SwimAll the boys had their best times at JV Conference - Amay Desai took 6th in the 200 Free, Jack Nicol took 7th in the 200 IM, Isaiah Prahl took 3rd in the 100 Fly, Aiden Kreitzer took 4th in the 500 Free, Nick Socha took 5th and Austin McCann took 6th in the 100 Back. Well done Germantown Swimmers! Ian DeMichiel took 3rd in diving! Congratulations to all!

Ski TeamThe MSG Co-op Ski Team competed in their final conference race of the season on Wednesday night, February 5th, at Alpine Valley. The team faced off against Mukwonago, University School of Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and Cedarburg in the Giant Slalom.

Paige MacIntyre placed 2nd after her first run, helping secure another 1st place finish for the Varsity Girls! It’s been an incredible season for the ladies!

Grayson and Jackson Butzke had an impressive performance, finishing 3rd and 4th, separated by just 0.28 seconds. Their efforts, along with strong runs from the rest of the team, helped secure 2nd place overall.

Justin Sossaman also had a standout performance, contributing to the JV Boys team’s 4th place finish.

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Ski Teams have qualified for the WIARA State Ski Championships in La Crosse next weekend! Congratulations on a fantastic season, and best of luck at State!

ForensicsThis past weekend, the Germantown Forensics Team competed in the Slinger Forensics Tournament. Congratulations to 6 members for winning awards! Congratulations to Cassie Zarder for 1st in Storytelling, Paige Johnson for 2nd in Oratory and 4th in Solo Serious Acting, Kolton Ceman for 2nd in Solo Humorous Acting, and Drew Venne and Rory Bishop for 6th in Play Acting. Next weekend, the team will travel to compete in West Bend. Good luck Germantown Forensics!

ForensicsGymasticsCongratulations to the girls’ co-op gymnastics team who had a great showing this past Saturday at their home invitational which consisted of six teams.  Emmy Coulter took 2nd on vault, 5th on beam and 4th all around!  Well done!

GymnasticsGymnasticsHockeyThe Bears hockey team played 3 games over the past week. Saturday afternoon they played Onalaska for 'Military Appreciation Night". The game was tied 0-0 after the first period. In the second period the Bears took a 3-2 lead with Reid Newkirk assisting on 2 of the goals and scoring the other. The Bears would go onto win the game 6-2. The big win of the evening was the fact that the team raised $5,640 which will all be donated to organizations that support the military directly. 

On Tuesday the team traveled to Bayport for a Sectional game. The Bears scored first on a goal assisted by Reid Newkirk. A few minutes later, Griffin Stein scored to take a 2 goal lead. Bayport would score to make it 2-1 at the end of the first period. In the second period the Bears opened things up by scoring 3 goals. Reid Newkirk had one of the goals and assisted another while Griffin Stein assisted the third goal. Bayport would go on to score a late goal in the third period to make the final score 5-2 for another Bears win.

Thursday the team traveled to Sheboygan for another Sectional matchup. The team was happy to see the return of Captain Trevor Newkirk who had been sidelined for 9 games with an injury. He wasted no time getting an assist on the first goal that was scored 19 seconds into the game. Both teams would score in the 2nd period, with the Bears goal assisted by Reid Newkirk. The team would take a 2-1 lead into the third period where they would open things up. The Bears scored 3 goals in the 3rd period and went on to win the game 5-1, 1 goal and 1 assist from Reid Newkirk

The team plays its final regular season game tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at home against Beaver Dam. Good luck!

Girls basketballOn Tuesday night the girls' basketball team defeated West Allis Hale 67-47 to remain in 3rd place in the Greater Metro Conference. Danica Gosz led the scoring with 23 points, while Jaycee Mani chipped in 13 points. Madeline Jakusz pulled down 19 rebounds, the 3rd highest single game total in school history. 

Tonight the girls are at home against DSHA. Good luck!

GBBBandCongratulations to Tyler Weber who signed a contract with The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps from Rosemont, Illinois this week! Drum Corps International is marching music’s major league and The Cavaliers are a top 10 group. Starting in May, he will be attending spring training full-time with them learning their performance show. From June 20-August 9, Tyler will be traveling across the country performing. You can see him in Cedarburg on July 3 and UW-Whitewater on July 5. The DCI Finals are August 7-9 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Congratulations, Tyler!

Celebrating WarhawksOn National Women in Sports Day, Germantown High School Female Student-Athletes and Activities Director Mrs. Unertl attended the second annual Wisconsin Female Student-Athlete Summit at Alverno College.  Featured in this picture with them are 4-time Paralympian Champion, ESPY award winner and hometown hero Becca Murray, and 2-time Olympic Medalist Speedskater Katherine Adamek!
