The GHS Wind Symphony consists of 50–55 of the finest instrumentalists at Germantown High School. Membership into this organization is through appointment by the GHS Band Staff in the spring of the previous year and is based on each student’s lesson preparation, musical aptitude, class involvement, leadership, and behavior within the class setting.

Consisting of students in grades 10–12, the Symphonic Band performs music of medium to advanced high school caliber. During the first semester, the Symphonic Band collaborates with the Concert Winds & Wall of Sound for Marching Band Madness and the Almost Anything Goes Show and performs at the December Holiday Band Concert.

The Concert Winds consist of all freshman band students. During the year students continue to build their technique and musicianship. The curricular focus of lessons is the ability to play music in all 12 major keys, play music in complex rhythms, and increase their range in all directions. The Concert Winds also provides the music for the GHS Graduation.

Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble performs at the April Spring Band Concert in addition to outreach performances.

Pep Band
Averaging over 110 members, the Pep Band plays at boys and girls basketball games throughout the season.

In January the pep band plays at the Winter Blast Concert and performs with the “World’s Largest Pep Band” at a select home basketball game.

Wall of Sound
Wall of Sound is Germantown High School's competitive marching band. It performs for two local parades, home football games, local concerts, and area marching competitions. The Wall of Sound teaches the students involved music, leadership, teamwork, and the ability to set and meet long-term goals.

Color Guard
The color guard is the Wall of Sound's non-musical section that provides additional visual aspects to the marching band's performance. Performing alongside the marching band in competitions and at football games, the color guard interprets the music the marching band is playing via the synchronized work of flags and rifles and through dance.
