My name is David Smith, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Germantown High School (GHS). The outstanding learning community at GHS is filled with dedicated educators and ambitious students striving for excellence and preparing for their lives as future professionals and leaders. Our mission to Empower and Inspire Every Student to Success is visible in and around our classrooms as you see students prioritizing their growth and taking the necessary steps to ensure future success. 

A little about my background - I received my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2013 and my master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Concordia Nebraska in 2017. My teaching career began with Sophomore and Junior English at Oak Creek, followed by seven enriching years at Elmbrook District teaching English and Leadership and leading career-based courses in Engineering, IT Solutions, and Media Solutions through the LAUNCH Program. In the spring of 2022, I started at GHS as the Dean of Students and then took on the role of Assistant Principal in the summer of 2022. 

Here at GHS, we are determined to provide each student with a rigorous and personalized educational experience that best prepares them for success in whichever pathway they choose upon graduation.
